Day 1: We're off to one of America's most colorful spring festivals, the Holland Tulip Festival. We'll travel through Pennsylvania and Ohio enroute to our host for the evening, the Hampton Inn, Dearborn, MI. Tonight be our guest for dinner. (D)
Day 2: Rise and shine, have breakfast and then travel through the unique adventure of 300 years of American history captured within 254 acres of indoor and outdoor historical exhibits and shops at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Founded by Henry Ford in 1929, the museum and village depict the sweeping changes that transformed America into a dynamic industrial society. The museum experience is complemented by a variety of historic structures, operating sawmill, a pottery shop, glassmaking plant, steam-powered print shop and more. We then travel to Grand Rapids to the Hampton Inn, where we stay for the next two nights. Dinner is included tonight. (D)
Day 3: We get our first look at the colorful town of Holland today and enjoy the activities of the Tulip Time Festival, a celebration of our Dutch heritage and the blooming of millions of tulips. Today we tour the Veldheer Tulip Gardens to see over 2 million tulips in bloom. We also view the spectacular Tulip Parade and embark on an exciting dune buggy ride this afternoon before returning to our motel. Dinner is included tonight. (D)
Day 4: We return to Holland to spend time at quaint Dutch Village, an authentic reproduction of a Dutch town with a lifestyle of 100 years ago. We also tour beautiful Meijer Botanical Gardens featuring a Victorian garden, waterfalls and outdoor nature trails. This afternoon we attend the musical performance at the Holland Civic Center. We later return to Dearborn and the Hampton Inn. Tonight you will be our guest for a farewell dinner. (D)
Day 5: We begin our journey home, retracing our route of the first day. Filled with the memories of the beauty of spring and the Holland tulip, we return home early evening.
