West Virginia

Day 1: Travel to wild and wonderful West Virginia, featuring high, wooded meadows, deep valleys and broad rolling plateaus. This morning, we depart for this scenic wonderland and a two night stay in Elkins, WV Enroute, we stop to view Blackwater Falls State Park near Davis, WV, and its spectacular 63-foot waterfall. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (D) 
Day 2: Following breakfast, we begin our day of train excursions with a ride on the Durbin Rocket, a steamCheat Mountain Railroad locomotive pulling an open-air passenger car on a 10-mile ride beside the Greenbrier River. It's a short drive to our next train, the Cheat Mountain Salamander. Here, we enjoy a 21-mile ride deep into the heart of the wilderness. -Me Salamander travels on mountain crests and high valleys for two hours before arriving at the High Falls of the Cheat River. The New Tygart Flyer will transport us back to civilization, and we enjoy a late boxed lunch as we travel the Tygart River Valley downhill to the town of Elkins. We later enjoy a nice country dinner at the Depot Restaurant. (B, L, D)
Day 3: We visit the National Radio Observatory for an informative and interesting tour. We begin our journey home, returning late afternoon. (B)


Day 1: Celebrate spring and beautiful Kentucky in a tour that is packed with exciting attractions and unique dining experiences. Upon arrival in Louisville, we board the Belle of Louisville and participate in a river race. Enjoy the fine meal and glide onto the dance floor with the big band live musical entertainment. (D)
Day 2: We depart our hotel this morning enroute to Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby. We'll hear the bugler sound the horn and the singing of "My Old Kentucky Home" while we enjoy breakfast as we view the magical process of training world- class thoroughbreds. Next we visit the Kentucky Derby Museum where the history of the Derby is chronicled inCelebrate Louisville
many displays. We then travel to Bardstown for lunch and a visit to the mansion that inspired Stephen Foster's ballad. We also tour Jim Beam's American Outpost to learn about the history of making bourbon. Tonight we enjoy the Derby Dinner Playhouse, where a delicious buffet and Broadway musical performance will be enjoyed by all. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Another full day of touring begins after breakfast with a visit to the Louisville Slugger Museum, where we learn about the history of these famous baseball bats. Other stops include the Glassworks-a dynamic facility bringing together an array of glass artists and galleries and the Frazier Arms Museum, featuring examples of firearms that span a thousand years of history. This afternoon try your luck at Caesars Casino before visiting Undulata, one of the finest saddlebred horse farms in the U.S. Tonight's fun begins at Claudia Sander's Restaurant for a fine dinner and live entertainment. Our exciting day is concluded with a fireworks display held overlooking the Ohio River. Wow! (B, D)
Day 4: We travel back to Pennsylvania after celebrating Louisville and the many memories that have occurred during our trip.
