Mt. Rushmore...What a Spectacular Site To See!!Day 1: It's a crisp fall morning and songbirds are chirping. Dew glistens on the amber grasses as a low rumble grows louder and louder. Suddenly, hundreds of bison appear over a hilltop in the Custer State Park as the annual Buffalo Roundup begins. Join Conestoga Tours for a fantastic fall tour that will take you to Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone Park, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and more. Today's travels take us to Fremont, IN.
Day 2: We continue our westward journey, visiting Notre Dame University, enroute to Chicago. Upon arrival in Chicago, we embark on a trolley tour that will show us the famous sights of the "Windy City" Dinner is included this evening at a popular local restaurant. (D)
Day 3: We continue to Minneapolis, arriving mid-afternoon to give you time at the famous Mall of America, America's largest shopping mall.
Day 4: A travel day finds us arriving in Rapid City, our home for the next three nights. Dinner is included. (D)
Day 5: We view Mt. Rushmore this morning and give you the chance for a close-up view of the famous monument. Next, we travel to the Crazy Horse Memorial, the largest statue in the world. This afternoon we attend the Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival. This one-of-a-kind event includes a chili cook-Off, a buffalo chip throwing contest, musical entertainment and arts and crafts booths.
Day 6: We'll be up bright and early this morning to take in the exciting annual Buffalo Roundup. Feel the thunder as 1,500 head of buffalo rumble by park personnel. Cowboys and cowgirls do their best to drive the Park's herd into the Buffalo Corrals - passing two designated viewing areas along the way. After the herd is safely in the corrals, we'll watch the park staff sort, brand, test and select certain animals for the fall sale. This afternoon we'll drink in the beauty of these forested mountains on the scenic byway Iron Mountain Road, with its pigtail bridges, mountain switchbacks, and amazing tunnels which perfectly frame the faces of Mount Rushmore. A train ride on the historic 1880 Steam Train rounds out this very special day.

Day 7: We travel to Cody, WY, stopping in at Deadwood, the setting for the last great gold rush in America. Legalized gaming has returned to Deadwood, so we will give you some time to try your luck and we'll visit historic Boot Hill, where legends now rest. Tonight you will be our guests for dinner. (D)
Day 8: We journey to Yellowstone Park, where a local guide will direct us to all regions of the park including Old Faithful. Tonight you will be our guest for a delicious dinner within the park. (D)
Day 9: We complete our visit to Yellowstone Park with another half-day of touring before visiting the picture-postcard town of Jackson Hole, located at the foot of the spectacular Teton Mountains.
Day 10: We travel to Salt Lake City, where we enjoy a tour including the Mormon Tabernacle.Wild West Buffalo Round up
Day 11: We travel to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. You will be free to enjoy the shows and restaurants this evening as well as test your luck.
Day 12: The morning is free to explore the amazing casinos before traveling to Flagstaff.
Day 13: The most amazing sight in North America, the Grand Canyon, is on our agenda this morning. We will journey along the south rim and give ample time for pictures. We return to Flagstaff this evening.
Day 14: We begin our journey eastbound, traveling through the Petrified Forest enroute to Albuquerque, NM.
Day 15: We travel from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City. Day 16: We arrive in Branson, MO, a popular entertainment mecca in the United States and catch one of their popular shows after a relaxing dinner. (D)
Day 17: We travel today to Richmond, IN, where we gather tonight for a farewell dinner, sharing the memories and friendships made on our western adventure. (D)
Day 18: Bid farewell to your traveling companions as we return home late afternoon.
